Welcome to the Show
Welcome to the wild world of the Free Form Rock Podcast, where we embrace every riff, solo, and scandalous hairdo from the glorious era of rock! If you’re a purist, a metal elitist who believes that any sound that isn’t an 8-minute guitar solo is akin to sacrilege, then this is your warning: you might want to turn down the volume and stick to your ‘perfect’ playlist filled with only the heaviest and most obscure bands that your no-caffeine diet can handle. Here, we celebrate everything from shaking your head to classic rock anthems to moshing like a maniac at a metal concert! We love all the forms of rock—classic, metal, and everything in between. So, if your idea of a good time is debating over which band had the best leather pants, you’re in for quite the ride! Sit back, relax, and remember: we don’t take ourselves too seriously—because if we did, we’d be stuck in the ‘70s, arguing over whether Led Zeppelin was better than Black Sabbath while wearing questionable platform shoes. Join us as we rock out the way rock was meant to be—loud, unapologetic, and just a little ridiculous! Tune in, turn it up, and let’s jam through the delightful chaos of our favorite tunes together!

Josefus - On this episode, we review the self-titled third album by the Texas psychedelic hard rock band from the late 60s and early 70s. We mention how we feel about the songs and mention briefly the passing of Brian Howe who sang with Bad Company and Ted Nugent, etc. (Lee also asks Marc about a group Lee was surprised Marc didn't know... haha.) Our tracks of the week are: Def Leppard "When The Rain Falls" (early version of Let It Go), Bang "Questions" and we finish the episode with Lee's song "It's All In The Name." Listen to find out what we think. The tracks of the week are Firehouse, “Hold Your Fire” and Stray, “Come On Over.” Our Lee Gerstmann track is called, “Moving Again.” Cheers, everybody! Van Halen – A Different Kind Of Truth
On this episode, we have a round table discussion of sorts. Ralph Viera (a/k/a Dr. Fukk) and James West join Marc and Lee to discuss an album that many Van Halen fans were clamoring for. Thanks to Wolfie [Wolfgang] Van Halen (bassist on the album), we got it! We chime in on our opinions of the songs and talk about related things of interest in regard to Van Halen. Ralph’s track of the day is a live version of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Needle and the Spoon”, James’ track is a song by Down called, “Bury Me With Smoke.” Marc picked a track from the Tubes called, “Talk To Ya Later” and Lee picked a song by Earth Quake called, “Guarding You.” As a code, the episode concludes with a Lee Gerstmann song called, “That Was Then.” Peace, everybody! Stay well and continue to be entertained by good music. J
